| Road to Hana |
|
Most people remember
the road to Hana because of the narrow, curvy road and not
because of Hana itself. In fact, most people turn around after
they've hit a few scenic spots along the way, way before reaching
Hana.
If you become carsick easily or have a big vehicle, the drive
on the Road to Hana will not be fun. Otherwise, it is part
of Maui not to be missed.
We stopped at 2 of the best spots along the way - Black Sand
Beach (at some park that began with a "W") and the
Seven Pools

The dragon's nose is to the left and his back is arching out of the water. This was Mom's favorite place because of ocean cave just behind that first group of rocks. |

Playing around, we swam out 100 yards to the dragon (directly behind us), climbed on his nose, walked to the arch of his back, jumped off, and slapped his belly as the swell carried us up. |

On the walk down, Uncle Spike dared me to jump off that bridge (click on the photo to zoom in, look above the highest waterfall). I passed. It was enough of a rush for me to stand on the edge of the handrail and look down. |
